Listen to Thomas Rhett on iHeartRadio | Listen to Rhett Akins

Thomas Rhett is sharing a special career moment with his dad.  A few weeks ago the country newcomer and his father, Rhett Akins, ruled the "Billboard" Country Airplay chart.

Between the two of them, they'd co-written five of the top ten songs on the list.  Thomas says to the best of his knowledge they're the first to achieve the feat.  He adds that Rhett didn't believe it when he heard the news.

Florida Georgia Line's "Round Here," which Thomas co-wrote, topped the "Billboard" Country Airplay chart dated September 9th, 2013.  Rhett co-wrote Justin Moore's "Point At You," which was perched at number five, as well as Billy Currington's "Hey Girl," which followed at number six.

Thomas' own single, "It Goes Like This," which he wrote with Ben Hayslip, Jimmy Robbins, and Rhett, occupied the number nine spot.

And Lee Brice's "Parking Lot Party," which Thomas and Rhett wrote with Luke Laird, wrapped up the top ten.
