I was holding it together today until my daugher Steph tweeted a memory from when I took her to one of her first concerts with Eddie and Troy. Heartbroken.
Eddie and T-Roy as the guys called him had so many great visits on my show. Today we have lost a great looking super talented fun loving Country superstar who was a father, husband, brother, and band mate who will be missed by millions forever. RIP Troy - mj
A LEXINGTON, KY television station is reporting that a helicopter crash at the FLYING W AIRPORT in MEDFORD, NJ has claimed the life of MONTGOMERY GENTRY singer TROY GENTRY. The accident occured around 12p (ET) TODAY (9/8). The duo's EDDIE MONTGOMERY was not onboard the helicopter at the time of the accident.
MONTGOMERY GENTRY was slated to perform a concert at the airport this evening, but the show was canceled immediately following the accident and before the identity of the victim was released. The identity of a second passenger on board has not yet been released.
As you might imagine Country Music Industry is reacting in force.
