The Booneville Police Chief was shot early this morning after responding to a suicide call.
Chief Albert Brown was shot in the leg and is currently being treated at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith. His condition is listed as good.
Chief Brown was with other officers when they arrived at the home in the city limits of Booneville. The reportedly suicidal man came out of the home with two guns and fired a round, strking the Chief.
The officers on the scene did not return fire and the suspect was taken into custody and is being questioned now.
