A former Hot Springs policeman is being accused of sexually assaulting a 9 year old girl.
The 41 year old officer, Paul Allen, was arrested after a call came in to the Child Abuse Hotline fowarded the sheriff's department a report indicating that the victim told her teacher about it.
Police also say the officer confessed to the crime to the 9 year old's mom through a text.nty Sheriff's Department has arrested a former Hot Springs police officer accused of sexually assaulting a 9-year-old girl.
Officials say Paul Henry Allen, 41, of Hot Springs was arrested after the Child Abuse Hotline forwarded the sheriff's department a report indicating the victim had told her teacher about the abuse.
After further investigation, police say text messages between the victim's mother and Allen show Allen confessing to molesting the victim.

"As of May 2, 2017, Mr. Paul Allen resigned from the Hot Springs Police Department. To ensure complete objectivity and transparency, the Garland County Sheriff's Department, along with the Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Division are conducting a criminal investigation on Paul Allen. Paul Allen resigned from the Hot Springs Police Department prior to administrative sanctions being imposed. He is no longer an employee or officer of the Hot Springs Police Department."
Allen is facing charges of second-degree sexual assault.
