Time to select who will help you if Facebook locks you out of your account

I had a discussion with a good friend of mine over the weekend who was very upset because she had been locked out of her Facebook account due to some content she has posted that she didn't know was copyrighted. It can take Facebook well over three days to get you back and online.

I let my friend know about a new feature that Facebook has rolled out called "Trusted Contacts".

You can designate 3 to 5 Facebook friends as your "Trusted Contacts" and it will be much easier to get back online.

Here is how you do it...

Go to the settings on the Facebook App. Then go to "Security And Login". Once you get there you will scroll down to the "3 To 5 Friends" option.

I'll give you the same advice I gave her. Pick friends that are a little tech savvy. If you make your mother or grandmother it might take them a long while to help you out.

If you get locked out of your account, Facebook will give each of your trusted contacts a special security code. If you need in, you can contact your trusted contacts and get the code.

I really think you should do this. They can't get into your account, so don't worry about that. This might come in really handy for you.
