I'm not sure I've been this excited in a long time about the "debut" of a television show. Not only was "Roseanne" one of my all time favorites, but it's part of a memory too.
The days I spent working radio in Lawton, Oklahoma were a kick.
I worked for the best radio station in town, surrounded by amazing radio pros. The other cool thing was I lived in the best apartment community, Sheridan Square. It was filled with young, fun military officers, college professors, nurses....and me.
Nothing happened in my life on Tuesday night, because that was Roseanne night. Early in the second season, I began to hear a very Roseanne-esque laugh coming from the apartment above each week the show was on. One day when we were both walking out of our apartments at the same time, I asked her if she was the one with the Roseanne laugh. After her initial embarrassment she said she was. Not long after that we decided we would hang out at one of our apartments and watch each week.
After a couple of years, she was transferred with her job and my Roseanne buddy was gone.
This week, I kinda wondered if, wherever she is now, she's as excited as me.
