BREAKING! Body found near AR River on Christmas Day may be identified

A man from Fort Smith has been missing since 2012 and there is a possibility his remains have been found.

Hunters found skeletal remains near the Arkansas River near Muldrow in Sequoyah County, Oklahoma, on Christmas, according to Sequoyah County Sheriff Larry Lane and Eric Helms, investigator for the Sequoyah County District Attorney's office.

Glen Cook Jr. was reported missing in June 2012. His truck was found alongside a river bank near Muldrow a little more than a week after he disappeared.

Crews searched in the area, but did not find any sign of Cook's body. His keys and his cell phone were both found near his car, but they were not together.

Ron Lockhart, who was Sequoyah County Sheriff at the time, said the disappearance was suspicious and that foul play could have been involved.

Investigators have spoken with numerous persons of interest since Cook's disappearance. No one was ever arrested on charged in the case.

Kim Liles, Cook's sister, says anyone responsible for Cook's death should submit to the authorities.
