Duck Day 2019

Announcing the seventh annual Duck Derby and Family Festival and the first annual Quack Waddle and Run 5k and 1 mile fun run May 18, 2019 at Parrot Island Water Park and Ben Geren Park.

“We are calling it Duck Day at the office”’ said STEPS Family Resource Center Executive Director, Teresa Hill.“This is our major fundraiser for the year and the proceeds support all the work we do with families and children who are involved in the foster care system.”

“Duck Day’ begins this year at 8am with a timed and chipped 5k and a 1 mile fun run. The Family Festival begins at 10 am and includes lots of games and entertainment for young and old. Then the ducks hit the Lazy River at Parrot Island to race for big prize packages. After the race, Parrot Island will open at 1:00 for an afternoon of fun in the water.

Although the Family Festival and the Duck Derby are free, the Quack Waddle and Run 5k registration fee is $30 with a T-shirt and $25 without. The Fun Run is free to children and $2 for adults. And the afternoon swim at Parrot Island is $10 per person. There is a special rate for foster families when they check in with proof of foster family status.
