Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani delivered a surprise rendition of their romantic new duet in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee.
Shelton and Stefani took the stage at the 2024 Country Radio Seminar (CRS) on Wednesday afternoon (February 28). They began their unexpected performance at the annual three-day event with “Nobody But You,” and briefly addressed the audience before leading into their latest collaboration, “Purple Irises.”: “But if someone comes along and tries to love you like I love you/ Don't know what I'd do, don't wanna lose you/ If someone comes along and tries to take you, tries to make you/ Don't let 'em change your mind/ Wonder why you took a risk/ On a broken heart you cannot fix/ No, I never knew a love like this/ Now we're picking purple irises”
The husband-and-wife duo released “Purple Irises” earlier this month, after posting a few teasers on Instagram and TikTok. Their debut live performance took place during Stefani’s headlining Super Bowl LVIII TikTok Tailgate in Las Vegas, Nevada (they surprised another crowd that time, appearing on stage at Shelton’s bar, Ole Red), and they performed it again on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Valentine’s Day. During her interview on the late night talk show, Stefani also revealed the dazzling ring Shelton gave her as an early Valentine’s Day gift.
Shelton and Stefani met in 2014, when they were both coaches on The Voice. They confirmed their romance the following year, and announced their engagement in 2020. In July 2021, Shelton and Stefani got married in a stunning ceremony on Shelton’s ranch in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Shelton has previously opened up about prioritizing time with his family, which also includes Stefani’s three children from her previous marriage, Kingston, Zuma and Apollo. Shelton told PEOPLE in 2022: “Even though I'm a stepparent, I take that job very seriously. …I’ve made plenty of money, but you can't buy time back. I don't want any regrets. …It's time to push some of this [work] stuff out and let more family and personal life in.”
