Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce said his relationship with pop superstar Taylor Swift "kind of just took the f**k off" in an exclusive interview with GQ released on Tuesday (August 12).
“Whenever I’m with her, it feels like we’re just regular people,” Kelce said. “When there is not a camera on us, we’re just two people that are in love. It can be perceived as something else because of how much it is talked about and how much we are tracked whenever we do go out, but I would say that it’s as normal of…. It happened very organically even though from a media standpoint it was being tracked. It still happened very organically.”
The interview was published hours before Swift's appearance alongside her boyfriend and his brother, retired former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, on their New Heights podcast set to be released on Wednesday (August 13) night. Swift officially announced her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, in a clip of teasing the episode.
"This is my brand new album, The Life of a Showgirl," Swift said while revealing a blurred out image to Jason during a clip from the upcoming interview shared on New Heights' social media accounts early Tuesday (August 12) morning.
Swift was revealed as the next guest on the New Heights podcast in another post shared on the show's social media accounts late Monday (August 11) night.
"We're about to do a f**king podcast," Swift said excitedly to Travis in a clip teasing her upcoming appearance on the New Heights podcasts' social media accounts Monday (August 11) night.
New Heights previously shared a graphic teasing its next episode set to be released on Wednesday (August 13), which featured a silhouette resembling Swift, as well as an orange background, which fans have connected to potential upcoming music. Several Instagram users also acknowledged that Travis appeared to be sitting next to the mystery guest while Jason was wearing a Taylor Swift shirt in the graphic.
"Episode on the 13th, Jason’s eras shirt, same orange background as Taylor Nation’s post…..," one fan wrote in response to the New Heights Instagram post.
Kelce famously revealed that he attempted to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number when he attended her concert at Arrowhead Stadium prior to their relationship in 2023.
Swift later said that Kelce "very adorably put me on blast" when he acknowledged the situation on his podcast, which she said "was metal as hell" while being featured as Time Magazine's 'Person of the Year' in December 2023. Kelce, who mulled retirement this past offseason, will return for his 13th NFL season months removed from the Chiefs falling short of what would've been the first Super Bowl three-peat in NFL history, having won three of the last five.
