Jessie James Decker got to work alongside fellow artist Jana Kramer in The Christmas Ring, a holiday romance movie that premiered in theaters on Thursday (November 6).
Decker said it was “thanks to Jana” that she joined the cast of the film after expressing her interest in working together. The Tyler Russell-directed film adaptation of author Karen Kingsbury’s novel also stars Kelsey Grammer, Benjamin Hollingsworth and more. The story follows “a military widow (who) falls in love while searching for her lost family Christmas Ring, an heirloom that has been in the family since D-Day,” reads its description on IMDb. Decker joined Kramer and Kristen Brust on a new episode of Whine Down with Jana Kramer to talk about their experience on the film and more.

Kramer said on her podcast that when she read the script, a role stuck out to her that reminded her of Decker, knowing that she’d expressed interest in acting in a project together. She helped Decker with her audition process and ultimately, the pair appear on screen together.
